At Sesame Lane McLennan Court our vision for reconciliation is to nurture our vibrant and connected community that welcomes all its members and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We are committed to working closely with children, families, the local community, each other, the Gubbi Gubbi people and their Elders and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People to include greater perspective and provide a culturally safe environment within our Centre.
We will continue to actively recognise that as the Australia's First People, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People hold a strong connection with this Land and hold invaluable knowledge, understanding and true histories. We will show deep respect to their cultures, beliefs, and traditions as we engage them as teachers of Country. We will recognise their worth as First People of Australia and when we engage individuals to share their culture and knowledge, we will respect their time and the intellectual property they share with us. As our vision for reconciliation entails coming together to build a deep and respectful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders histories, cultures and rights, and valuing their relationship Country as the custodians of this Land where we now all share national identity, resulting in national unity.
