At Northlakes Astley Parade, reconciliation means understanding the role of education in the reconciliation movement, and sharing our commitment to change, while ensuring equality and equity for all.
We are committed to building partnerships with, and learning from, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play and learn. Reconciliation means to continue to celebrate the ongoing contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to make, and commit to creating warm, responsive and respectful learning environments for all.
We make the commitment to teach our little people the importance of reconciliation and the true history of this and to show them this commitment through our work within our classrooms. We would like to see our educators grow and learn along this journey and to develop thorough understandings of the true history of First Peoples Land to be able to implement and guide our little people into the future.
