At Only About Children Melbourne Central, our vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge the cultures, histories, contributions and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will provide staff, children and families with a range of culturally responsive learning experiences and promoting children's appreciation of, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We as a team understand and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' and cultures, rights and experiences, which results in stronger relationships based on trust and mutual respect and that are free of racism. The histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples must be recognised and respected as a unique part of our shared national story and identity. This recognition encourages connectedness to First Peoples within our centre and the broader community, enabling us to maintain respectful relationships and links to the Wurunjeri people.
