Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, which is interrelated through unity, race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, and historical acceptance. Our vision is to create a culture of respect and establish MyCentre Childcare as a place where reconciliation is embedded daily through sustainable change that builds on progress. We aim to do this by seeking new ways to better understand and include First Nations peoples knowledges, perspectives, and cultures into our programs. As young childrens first educators, we believe we have an opportunity to teach children about respect and reconciliation as well as create a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued. We acknowledge the Reconciliation Action Plan as a continual process which will be added to as we grow as a team and organisation. Our commitment mirrors our values of respect for diversity, inclusion and advocating the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children. It is our goal that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives are embedded deep within our curriculum and learning programs in order to strengthen and promote a culture of understanding.
