We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we stand. We will respectfully engage in the reconciliation processes by supporting our staff, children and families’ understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and their significant contribution to the past, present and future of Australia.

We value and respect  the expertise and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Elders, and community members to help support the Vision, Principles, Practices and Outcomes of the EYLF to make a difference for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and non-Aboriginal children. Reconciliation in education should be taught in every area of learning including mathematics, language and literacy, science, sensory, music, geography, and history.

We believe reconciliation is also about staff and children acknowledging the inappropriate and inhumane ways First Nations Peoples were historically treated, learning from our mistakes and move forward to a future built on honesty, humbleness, respect, and integrity.  

We will provide staff with validated resources and regular trainings t about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and the way staff communicate and build relationships with First Nations Elders using respectful and inclusive language.

A better understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories develops an enriched appreciation of Australia's cultural heritage and can lead to reconciliation.

This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity.
