Our vision for reconciliation at SCECS OSHC St Michaels Stanmore is to embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians. We envision a service and national culture that is built on equality, equity, and a truthful understanding of our shared history, free from racism and guided by mutual respect. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and everyday actions of all Australians as we walk together towards a future strengthened by respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. At SCECS OSHC St Michaels Stanmore, we are committed to reconciliation through fostering a sense of being, belonging, and becoming in every child. We continue to ensure there are opportunities for all staff, students and families to learn about the the true histories, diverse cultures, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will continue to deepen our awareness and understanding of First Peoples, cultures and perspectives. We will build and maintain relationships with the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Cadigal People of the Eora Nation. Through these relationships, we will continue to reflect on how to meaningfully embedded First Nations perspectives in our curriculum, practices, and daily routines, enriching our community, and guiding us on our ongoing journey of reconciliation.
