At Guppys Early Learning Centre Forestdale, our vision for reconciliation is to nurture a community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories, and perspectives are valued, respected, and woven into everyday learning. We aim to create a place where children, families, and educators grow together in understanding and connection. We envision a centre where children experience learning on Country with respect and curiosity and developing a deep appreciation for the First Nations peoples who have cared for this Land for thousands of years. Families feel welcomed and included, knowing that their cultures, stories, and identities are respected and celebrated. Educators engage in ongoing learning, building cultural responsiveness through reflection, collaboration, and meaningful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our environment reflects the richness of First Nations peoples cultures, through language, art, storytelling, and daily practices that acknowledge the past and look toward a shared future. Reconciliation is lived, not just spoken, guiding our decisions, shaping our curriculum, and inspiring us to create a more just and reconciled future for all. Our vision is to walk this journey with openness, humility, and commitment recognising that reconciliation is a continuous process of learning, listening, and taking action together. We commit to walking together in the spirit of learning, respect, and reconciliation.
