VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Grandma Rosies Childcare Centre will continue to actively acknowledge and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultural histories, heritages, traditions and deep connections with, and custodianship of, the Land.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised and celebrated as being the First Nations peoples of Australia; a world where people's First Nations Peoples Human Rights are respected, and all people and children have a sense of belonging and self-determination in their lives. We as a service are committed to contributing to an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families feel a sense of belonging and strong connection with our centre community. We acknowledge and advocate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to ensure the active acknowledgement of their unique rights as the First Peoples of Australia.

We are committed to equality, equity and respect for diversity, appropriately learning about First Nations cultures which are valued and celebrated. We will continue to ensure our service, staff and families actively participate in reconciliation through policies, environments and actions. Reconciliation, to us, is a way of being, a cornerstone of our citizenship, where we hold deep regard for the people on whose Land, we all live.

As Educators, we aspire to do this by supporting our community to develop an understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultural heritages and continuing contributions.
