At Go Bananas Outside School Hours Care, we believe it is important that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and recognised as the First Nations peoples of Australia. We are committed to providing children with the opportunity to learn through an inclusive program by respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, histories, cultures and traditions within the curriculum, program and daily practices. We aim to build upon children’s respect, understanding and appreciation towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and traditions.
We recognise that all children have the right to be treated with equality and equity and their cultures, languages and beliefs should be respected, embraced, acknowledged and encouraged. We strive to develop respectful and meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We at Go Bananas Outside School Hours Care believe in building and establishing strong partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and to respectfully share learnings on our reconciliation journey.
