VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

East Gosford Early Learning recognises the Traditional Custodians of the Land and acknowledges and pays our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present and emerging. Our vision encompasses a holistic journey approach where we actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Nations Peoples of Australia.

We specifically acknowledge the Darkinjung People; whose Land our Early Childhood Education and Care Service is situated upon. We also acknowledge the Lands which the families of our community have descended from.

We believe in respectfully fostering an inclusive environment within our service and will continue to make active commitment to acknowledging,  respecting and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our everyday practices.

Our vision at East Gosford Early Learning is to continue our commitment to be a culturally safe space for all members of the community. We will develop and demonstrate our cultural responsiveness through continuing to be respectful in how we are meaningfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into our play spaces and learning goals, and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to be evident throughout our learning spaces and engagements with all members of our early learning service community.

To extend on our vision following our 12month review, we will work closely with the Darkinjung people and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  community to further embed authenticity within our service through a range of opportunities.
