At Discovery Early Education and Care Centre, our vision for reconciliation is for a unified Australia where all educators, children and families feel a sense of belonging and connection to the community. We are committed to raising awareness about reconciliation, with the goal of encouraging all people in the broader community to work towards reparation and healing for the Land’s First Peoples.
We will contribute to achieving this vision by:
•Actively acknowledging and respecting the cultural histories, heritages, traditions and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. •Building respectful relationships and partnerships with the local Birpai community to learn from, collaborate with and champion quality opportunities and outcomes for all children. •Developing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a sense of belonging for all in our community. •Reflecting and extending on our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures to enable us to guide and influence strong, resilient future generations, one child at a time.
