At Discovery Early Education and Care Centre, we continue to deepen and extend our commitment to reconciliation as we work towards a united Australia where educators, children and families experience a genuine sense of belonging, connection and shared responsibility.  We are committed to continuing to raise awareness and strengthen understanding of reconciliation, and to encouraging meaningful action that contributes to healing, justice and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the First Nations peoples of Australia.     We will continue to extend and embed our commitment by actively acknowledging, respecting and deepening our understanding of the cultural histories, living cultures, traditions and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   Through strengthening and maintaining respectful relationships and partnerships with the local Birpai community, continuing to learn from, collaborate with and advocate for equitable opportunities and positive outcomes for all children.  We will continue to build and nurture genuine relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities, ensuring culturally safe and welcoming environments where every child and family feels valued and respected.   We will continue to reflect on and deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to guide our practice and support strong, proud and resilient current and future generations.  

By continuing to review and enrich our programs and practices to ensure all children engage meaningfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in authentic, developmentally appropriate ways.  We are committed to ensuring there are opportunities to strengthen our understanding of  cultural responsiveness, cultural safety and reflective practice, ensuring our pedagogy honours, respects and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing.     We are committed to continuing our reconciliation journey in ways that are respectful, authentic and sustainable.
