Our vision for Reconciliation begins with developing meaningful, respectful practices that embed and connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and truths to our preschool. These practices are developed by educators listening deeply to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including the families and children who are connected to our service, and being dedicated to continued professional learning. We hope to further efforts to ensure reconciliation is valued and accessible in our diverse community.
In the context of our culturally and linguistically diverse community we will support learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and truths by engaging with strengths, similarities and differences between all peoples in a joyful and truthful way. We acknowledge that reconciliation is complex and ongoing and is engaged with differently by each individual. As an early years education service, we as a whole, have a part to play in reconciliation and are committed to this work.
