VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Annadale Community Centre's vision for developing a Reconciliation Action Plan is to take meaningful actions to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Owners and continuing custodians of Australia. Through these actions we aim to nurture a generation of children who grow with deep respect, understanding, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's knowledges, cultures and ways of living.    We are committed to creating an environment where First Nations histories, cultures, and perspectives are meaningfully embedded in everyday practice. Through our relationships, curriculum, and community connections, we strive to foster a sense of belonging for all children and families.    By learning about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples connections to, respect for and knowledge about the Land, waters, and skies we can help raise a generation of environmentally responsible children.    We believe that reconciliation begins with understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander true histories, acknowledging rights, respecting culture and forming meaningful partnerships with local First Nations communities.     Our vision is to pave a path where we share responsibility to educate ourselves and everyone that we connect with about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures so that we can all walk together with the spirit of justice, respect, inclusion and shared responsibility.
