Our Empowered FDC Community vision embraces the five dimensions of reconciliation with the aim of working towards building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous cultures which are based on belief, respect and are free from discrimination.
We show respect and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, paying homage to their rich heritage. Joining respectful celebrations of significant dates and acknowledging the achievements of our shared historical moments within our pedagogical practices provides our whole community opportunities to come together as one, reflect upon relationships and embrace unity within our community.
Our Early childhood curriculums delivered within our Family Day Care Services, are mindful of the way we educate all parties in the wrongdoings of the past towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We focus on always working on building stronger connections and maintaining mutual relationships with local Elders and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, to change and re-educate our community to ensure equity and equality, within our society.
Recognising the importance of education and having unrestricted access to early childhood education and care opportunities for all cultures is one of our main priorities as an Early Childhood provider. Our ensure every child is given access to quality care and education and participate in programs to support lifelong learning.
