At our service, we believe in acknowledging the true histories of Australia to promote a sense of understanding, connection and respect for Australia’s First Nations peoples. We encourage the children to explore this through play. We are committed to fostering a sense of connection to the Land through play, learning and caring for it. . Our team are committed to recognising and respecting the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This is part of our shared journey to work towards a connected and respectful society. As a Kindergarten, we are committed to raising awareness of reconciliation, with the goal of encouraging all people in the broader community to embrace reconciliation and work towards reparation for the Land’s First Peoples. We will demonstrate this through; gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of knowing and learning; respectfully reflecting that knowledge at all levels of our service; improving access to our service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and developing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a sense security of belonging for all in our community.
