Reconciliation at Plumtree Service signifies the harmonious coming together and collaborative partnerships with First Nations' peoples. It embodies our commitment to fostering parity and fairness in access to education, employment, and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Our belief rests in the attainment of a reconciled Australia wherein all individuals enjoy equal and equitable entitlements to income, living standards, health services, education, and life expectancy. Our journey towards reconciliation is an ongoing endeavour, marked by enhanced communication and collaboration with First Nations staff, families and children. Furthermore, we continue to nurture deeper connections with existing First Nations families, while upholding enduring relationships with the esteemed First Nations alumni. These familial connections ensure that we continue to support and engage with the First Nations peoples at Plumtree. . We continue to work towards respectful collaboration with First Nations peoples to authentically include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives, teachings, and insights into our curriculum and daily routines. This includes ongoing dedicated commitment to enhancing our understanding of the Cadigal Peoples’ cultures and the true histories of the Eora Nation. We continue to impart our new knowledge and ongoing profound respect for the Traditional Custodians of this Land not only to the children within our classrooms but also to their families. In this way, our vision for reconciliation will resonate widely, positively impacting the entire community.
