Our vision for reconciliation at Arnolds Creek Kindergarten is to create an environment that is welcoming to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through connecting with, and building trusting and respectful relationships with our families and community.
We recognise and respect the Traditional Land Owners of Arnolds Creek, their cultures and histories through utilising appropriate resources and embedding ways of being and belonging into our curriculum. As a community of learners and early childhood educators we will continue to endeavour to engage in meaningful interactions, relationships and learning opportunities that foster reconciliation and to reflect on how this helps us support positive outcomes, mental health, wellbeing and holistic development.
We will foster an environment that encourages ongoing and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. We will continue to encourage educators, children and families to encourage with continuous learning and professional development to promote understanding and sharing of knowledge of Country.
We are committed to continuing to work towards connecting with local Elders and community members.
We believe that "weaving the Indigenous story into the fabric of education leads to better knowledge, understanding and outcomes for all" - The State of Reconciliation in Australia report, 2016.
