Our vision for reconciliation at Entrada Montessori Academy is to build a learning community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, and cultures are respectfully understood, visible, and valued every day. We are committed to educating ourselves, educators, families, and children to ensure reconciliation is not a single project or event, but a way of thinking, being, and working together. We recognise and celebrate the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures represented in and beyond our service, and we are dedicated to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islande peoples perspectives meaningfully across our Montessori environments, routines, and curriculum. We will continue to provide authentic, carefully considered learning experiences that deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, knowledges, languages and their ongoing connections to Country. By engaging in practices and activities that promote cultural responsiveness, truth-telling and mutual respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Isander peoples and non-Indigenous people, we continue to strengthen opportunities for everyone across our learning community to draw the connections between home, centre, and community, and to ensure our reconciliation journey is guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone, including children, see First Nations perspectives reflected in the physical space, in the curriculum, in relationships, and in everyday interactions. We will continue to acknowledge and honour the histories, contributions, and continuing cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by actively promoting unity, respect, and collaboration. Through ongoing education, reflection, and honest dialogue, we will continue to build a community that understands reconciliation as a shared responsibility and a fundamental principle of our work, supporting every child, family, and educator to walk together towards deeper understanding, respect, and genuine partnership.
