At Saltwater Promenade Kindergarten our vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge and embed respect for the world's longest living culture, building and encouraging relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the children, families and educators within our service. We acknowledge the Bunurong and Wadawurrung Peoples as Traditional Owners of the Lands on which Saltwater Promenade Kindergarten operates. The Wadawurrung and Bunurong Peoples have and always will belong to the Werribee Yalook (river), creeks, stars, hills and red clay of this Country. We pay respect to their Ancestors and Elders who always have, and always will, care for Country and community today and for future generations.
We are committed to our reconciliation journey and continue in establishing respectful, regular and consistent relationships with local Elders. We are committed to respectfully embedding authentic, meaningful practices into our curriculum, and we have encouraged and supported educators to pursue training about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures. We will continue to work diligently to educate ourselves and our children about and raise awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
At Saltwater Promenade Kindergarten, we believe that connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard and valued.
Our vision is a continual journey and a call towards acceptance, knowledge, awareness, truthfulness and above all towards brave action.
We strive towards a better tomorrow, where we all can live in harmony upon this great Country.
