Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Early Learning Centre Hobart is to continually build and maintain respectful relationships between our Centre and our wider community including the local Palawa community, the survivors of the Muwinina people, the original custodians of the Land on which we work and play.
Our vision is to ensure we maintain a community of belonging and lifelong learning. As a centre community we continue to learn, unlearn and relearn about and respectfully teach about First Nations peoples perspectives, knowledge, cultures, histories, and experiences. We will do this by strengthening the ongoing relationships and strong connections with our families and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
We continually educate ourselves as educators about the histories, perspectives and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and respect the cultures, wisdom and practices of First Nations Peoples. We will share our learning with the community to deepen their understandings of the histories and the deep knowledges, cultures and practices continued by the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
