At Goodstart Eaton reconciliation is about learning the true history of Australia and acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We value the journey of reconciliation and deepening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who wish to share their stories and perspectives with us.
A reconciled Australia looks like a country of equality and equity where all people value and understand Country and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
A reconciled Australia feels like a country of people who are brave enough to acknowledge the past but are hopeful and have the openness to explore their own journey of reconciliation and what it means to each of us.
Based on our reconciliation journey and learnings so far, our next most powerful steps involve continually reviewing our practices and focusing on our journey of understanding and discovery. It is easy to get lost in the journey, it is okay to celebrate the small steps we have made and these steps will support us in deepening our understanding and embedding these practices consistently across the Centre.
We are committed to engaging with our educators, families, children and community in order to recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
