Smileys vision for reconciliation is to continue our journey working in collaboration with and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to further embed their histories and perspectives throughout our learning environments and curriculum. With a shared mission to provide meaningful and respectful learning opportunities throughout all areas of our service, we will respectfully work with and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. With our new learnings, we will promote these cultural perspectives and embed them in our pedagogical practices. We believe in working in partnership and recognising the expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their connections to the land and community and their ongoing history, heritage, and traditions. We move forward with the aim to ensure the children become active participants in their community, acting with care and respect for the country and land Smileys resides on.
