Our team at Kenwick Childcare Centre are working towards achieving genuine and lasting reconciliation and strong bonds between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community by supporting all staff, children and families to feel a sense of belonging and strong connections with community and Country. We will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural identities are respected and that all children are recognised and nurtured as future leaders in Australia’s reconciliation journey. We will actively support and embrace reconciliation throughout the year within our community and will actively embed it within our weekly curriculum and program. Kenwick childcare centre is a safe and welcoming place for many local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children that attend the service and their families. Their cultures are celebrated and non-Indigenous children, families and educators are educated on the histories and cultures of First Nations peoples. At Kenwick Childcare Centre, we are building a community where everyone feels valued, respected and has equal and equitable opportunities to thrive in an inclusive environment through implementing our reconciliation initiatives.
