KinderPark Early Learning Centre Mundaring

At Kinderpark Mundaring we are creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories are respected, celebrated, and embedded in all aspects of the service. This involves fostering positive relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous children, families, and staff, and promoting a deeper understanding of Australia's true history.  

To achieve this vision, we will commit to the following aspects within our RAP journey. 

Acknowledgement and Respect - Recognizing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the Land.  

Cultural Safety - Ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and staff feel safe, respected, and valued.  

Cultural Responsiveness - Integrating Indigenous perspectives, knowledge, and practices into the curriculum, programs, and daily interactions.  

Building Relationships - Fostering respectful and reciprocal relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Elders.  

Promoting Understanding - Educating children, families, and staff about First Nation peoples cultures, histories, and the importance of reconciliation.  

Supporting Self-Determination - Empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to make choices about their own lives and cultural identity.  

Advocating for Change - Promoting social justice, equity, and reconciliation within the broader community.  

Continuous Learning - Engaging in ongoing reflection and learning to deepen cultural understanding and improve reconciliation efforts.
