At Goodstart Sinagra our vision is to recognise and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and build equality and equity and positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians. We aim to provide an understanding and inclusive environment and to work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations, and communities to establish a culturally diverse centre. As educators, we want to teach children to treat everyone equally and equitably, and by providing a culturally diverse centre, we will role model this to younger generations. We want to recognise the First Nations peoples and acknowledge First Peoples’ diverse histories as well as their present and continuing experiences and contributions. We will strive to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives in all that we do. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a centre, we acknowledge that developing and implementing our RAP is a continual process and we will add to it as we grow both individually and as a team. Our goal is to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in a way that is entrenched in our being, belonging, and becoming.
