Win Newby's vision for reconciliation is to actively acknowledge that we live, play and learn on Barngarla Country. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's cultures and spiritual connections with the land, waterways and community.
At Win Newby, we acknowledge the past and believe in being honest with children, staff, families and the wider community, in order to better understand the true histories of Australia and the impact that this has had on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their cultures. We look to address injustices within our centre and wider community and support the care and preservation of First Nation peoples cultures and this Country.
We believe reconciliation is a continuous commitment to action in respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our preschool curriculum. This is fostered through storytelling, discussion, resources, and connection with the wider community. We seek opportunities to connect and build meaningful relationships with local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations.
We take pride in working to create a culturally sage space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, employees and families and everyone who is part of our kindy community.
