VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Blakeview Preschool, we will continue to create a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where First Nations people, and everyone across our learning community, feels a deep sense of belonging. We value and celebrate the diverse cultural identities within our preschool community and acknowledge the richness that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions bring to our shared learning journey.

We are committed to ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children have equal and equitable access to a high-quality early childhood education that is grounded in respect, inclusion, and cultural safety. Our curriculum continues to reflect and honour the voices, perspectives, and knowledges of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We recognise the importance of building respectful and trusting relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Through meaningful collaboration and partnerships, we aim to create opportunities for shared learning that strengthen cultural understanding among children, educators, and families.

By embedding respectful education, we will continue to strengthen understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, stories, and traditions among children, staff, and families, so we might work as a community to open pathways to a more inclusive and culturally aware future. Through ongoing reflection, learning, and action, we commit to embedding reconciliation in everyday practice, ensuring it is not just a statement but a lived reality within our preschool community.
