Our vision for reconciliation is to continue to build relationships with the local First Nations community that will foster reconciliation. We will provide opportunities for children, educators, and families to gain a meaningful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and to recognise this country's deep cultural heritage, specifically beginning with the Kaurna culture as Kaurna people are the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide Plains (Kaurna Land). Our vision is to create a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families feel welcome and respected, and where journeys of learning about, embracing, and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are supported and encouraged. Our vision mirrors our values of respect for diversity, and inclusion, advocating the rights of children, justice, honesty, and courage. It is our goal that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages, perspectives, and experiences are embedded respectfully and deeply in the service so that it is entrenched in our being, belonging, and becoming. In support of sustainable and meaningful reconciliation, Goodstart Early Learning Parafield Gardens welcomes all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to our service and remains committed to sourcing and attending opportunities to increase staff and community awareness of the longstanding and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
