Our vision for reconciliation is to educate our community about First Nations peoples of Australia’s cultures and perspectives within our daily practices. To achieve this, we will continue to support our staff in developing a deeper understanding and respect for the complex and diverse perspectives and experiences of First Nations peoples. Here at CECC we are working actively together to support each other in understanding what it is to reconcile and how to achieve this process. To do this we build respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous people. As a centre we promote equality and equity within our community, by acknowledging the happenings of history on Kaurna Land and working towards the removal of negative race relations. To do so we will role model positive and respectful actions, language, attitudes and understandings to encourage our learners to do the same. We provide a holistic approach to reconciliation in education that focuses on embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait ways of knowing into our daily practice, to support our early leaners in fostering a healthy relationship towards diversity. We will actively seek feedback from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our local community and wider community.
