Our vision for reconciliation starts with our acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who we recognise as the Traditional Custodians of this place we now call Australia, and we acknowledge Kaurna people who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land that we are situated on. We recognise that their living cultures and heritages have shaped and continues to shape the identity of all Australians.
Reconciliation for our centre involves all educators, children and the wider community deepening their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories. It is also about a commitment to the rights of children, cultural safety and cultural responsiveness, respect, honesty, collaboration, diversity, justice, and social inclusion.
We are dedicated to this journey towards long-term reconciliation within our local community and building meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
