VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Niina Marni

Goodstart Angle Park recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and the Kaurna People as Traditional Custodians of the Land our childcare center is situated on.

We will work towards establishing and nurturing respectful and trusting relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations.  We aim to provide First Nations children and all children with the opportunities to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives and histories and develop a personal sense of the shared identity we are lucky to have.as a proud part of our national heritage.  As members of local community on Kaurna Land we aim to support all children to have a deep sense of belonging and respect and we will support this by fostering meaningful relationship opportunities between our service and local First Nations Elders, families, and community members.

We will provide a safe, welcoming environment for families, children, and community, that respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Land we work, learn and play on.  Educators will continue to embed our commitment to respecting and valuing Kaurna Peoples by educating our children to value First Nations knowledges, heritages, and rightful place in the nation’s history, present and future.
