Reconciliation is an ongoing and multi-dimensional process for all Australians, and it is our vision that staff, families, and the community of Cairns TAFE Community Child Care Centre continually develop unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians,
Through reconciliation, we recognise the importance of acknowledging the contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and particularly the local Traditional Owners, the Gimuy Walubara Yidinji and Yirrganydji Peoples whose Land we learn on.
We will build meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander families and community so that we can learn about the cultural diversity of Australia's First Peoples. Learning from each other through play and shared experiences will ensure we continue to develop a greater connection to each other.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan will create a Centre whose values focus on teaching children the need for honesty, collaboration, and respect for all in particular Australia's First Peoples. We will foster and encourage children, staff, and families to engage in culturally diverse pedagogies of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to strengthen their knowledge, respect and shared connection to Country and Sea.
We consider our RAP to be a developing continuum of positive change as we continue the journey of reconciliation.
