Our vision for reconciliation is to actively respect the Traditional Custodians of the Lands that Goodstart Eimeo is built on, the Yuwi people (Yuwibara people). We are committed to maintaining respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families within the centre and to work alongside them to develop Educators’ children’s and families’ understanding of the true histories since colonisation, so that we can, in turn, respectfully teach about, and take further action towards, reconciliation. We will continue to create environments where educators and children understand the histories, cultures and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and can connect with reconciliation in education through planning and play.
