We at Archer Street Child Care Centre believe reconciliation is an ongoing journey and a journey best entered through collaborative relationships between the service, families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
We feel reconciliation embraces inclusivity, respect, diversity and connections, celebrating the Land on which we meet, Darumbal. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land and pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging.
We strive for our journey towards reconciliation to include authentic First Nations resources and respectful practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and staff. We aim to provide equal and equitable opportunities in teaching and learning experiences, and further develop our sustainable practices to care for Country, invite First Nations community members into our service, create a diverse and inclusive presence as a service within the local community and share our reconciliation journey with all.
As we progress on our reconciliation journey, we aim to adapt a unique and aspirational approach to Actions, Goals and Deliverables towards a more just and fair community.
As a service we aim to encompass Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogy as part of our program and continue to celebrate each individual child and their unique learning styles and cultural heritages.
