Goodstart Toolooa Street's vision is to ensure that the current and next generations of Australians grow up with connections to, and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and Australia's true histories. Our purpose is for every child to have the best possible start in life. We have a unique opportunity to influence and educate current and future generations of Australians to respect First Nations peoples, cultures and histories, combating racism by providing a different dialogue through a shared understanding of Australias past and present. Embracing unity by recognising that reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and First Nations peoples. Aligning with Goodstart's vision for reconciliation for Goodstarters to engage with reconciliation on both a personal and professional level, creating the conditions that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social justice, equality and equity. Through this vision, we are laying the foundations to grow future generations that value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritage as a proud part of a shared identity. We continue to acknowledge and respect local Elders as we continue the journey towards reconciliation alongside the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
