Goodstart Kensington Way acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia and the oldest living civilisation in the world. Where all Australians understand the significance of acknowledging and respecting Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and their continuing strong connection to Land and Country. Through pedagogical approaches we foster and embed an understanding for children, educators and families to gain a meaningful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and to recognise this country's deep cultural heritage and true history.
Committing to support and encourage positive and collaborative relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and rights are a valued and recognised part of a shared national identity and, fostering national unity.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we hope to create an Australia where all Australians understands and acknowledges the hurt, dislocation, and injustices experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise the strength, resilience, and the rich knowledges and ways of being and knowing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring that past is never repeat, providing truth, justice, and healing.
