VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to be a centre that embraces unity between Indigenous peoples and other Australians, and a culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Indigenous peoples and this learning to starts with us in Early Years Education.

We acknowledge the RAP is a continual process and we will add to it and grow individually, as a team and as a centre.  We will be a centre that provides equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for all children and students, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is not just culturally safe, but culturally rich and proud. We are committed to working in a respectful way with Indigenous peoples, organisations and communities. Our commitment mirrors our values of respect for diversity, inclusion, advocating the rights of children.

It is our goal that Indigenous heritage and perspectives are embedded so respectfully and deeply in the future that it is entrenched in our being, belonging and becoming. In support of sustainable and meaningful reconciliation, Lockyer Valley Early Education Centre and Pre school creates a culturally safe space all families and remains committed to sourcing and attending opportunities to increase staff and community awareness of the longstanding and continuing contributions of Indigenous peoples.
