Our vision is to see all people who are a part of the Tree of Life Childcare and Kindergarten community recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and to form genuine and authentic bonds that are built on kindness, respect and understanding. We are committed to our wider community and the needs of our children and families and provide a program that promotes equity, equality, the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures and inclusion.
Tree of Life Childcare and Kindergarten acknowledges Australia’s colonial history, and the impact intergenerational trauma has on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Tree of Life Childcare and Kindergarten seeks to ensure equal and equitable enrolment and participation opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families in our centre. Our already strong connection with an Elder will continue as we respectfully gain both clarity and knowledge from his continued presence.
Tree of Life Childcare and Kindergarten strives to be continually active on our reconciliation journey, and respectfully embed practices that embrace and celebrate the cultures of First Nations peoples.
To support our vision of creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment, we continually aspire to include the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives as the heart of our curriculum and allow our educators to engage in professional training to shape their confidence and understanding.
We aim to create an environment that recognises the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as being comprised of knowledgeable individuals who continue to actively contribute to modern day Australia.
