Here at OAC Carindale we continue to build mutual ongoing relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and commit to fostering and demonstrating respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and achievements.
Here at OAC Carindale we have taken the time to understand our own service culture and seeing our strengths and weaknesses, which we feel helps develop cultural awareness and understanding of each other’s different cultures and ensuring we respect each unique culture, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures.
OAC Carindale will continue to work on connecting with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and community members. Supporting First Nations businesses, charities and contributing to various Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander causes we can inspire reconciliation within our community.
OAC Carindale believes we can learn from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Yuggera people of the local community. We believe that reconciliation is a very important part of our program and is about respect and developing positive relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
