Our vision here at Crestmead Early Education Centre is for reconciliation to be embedded within our centre and community. We strive to be a service that welcomes all its community members and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. As we continue to embark on this journey with our local and wider communities, we will be respectful to the Elder's past, present and seek a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and heritage. As a centre we will continue to develop respectful and meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and communities where their languages, stories, artefacts and identities are celebrated, talked about and implemented in young Australian's lives. Reconciliation means to the Service community working together to achieve respect, trust, equity and equality between cultures. Our vision is to remember, reflect and learn from history to build stronger relationships and come together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We will focus on developing and building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the service The centre will look for guidance and collaboration between Educators and local Elders, families and community members to learn about the crucial impact that we have in the life of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child growing to be inclusive of cultural diversity and to reduce tokenism. Our vision for reconciliation is to create a culturally safe environment that supports equality and equity in educational outcomes for all students.
