Our vision for reconciliation at Sunkids Calamvale Central begins with acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Original Owners and Custodians of Lands across Australia.
Within our service, we will ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are embedded in ways that value the rich and diverse cultures of First Nations peoples. We will continue to deepen our understanding of this by developing and implementing learning and education opportunities and fostering respectful relationships between our service and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local community. We continue to show respect for all First Nations cultures, beliefs, histories and views by establishing and deepening our understanding of reconciliation through relationships, respect, equity and equality. We recognise the responsibility our service has to actively work in partnership with educators, families, and children to create a service where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Our commitment to reconciliation is to grow individually and as a team, to continue to advocate for the rights of all First Nations children and all children.
We will continue to deepen this commitment to continuous improvement in our approach to respectfully embedding and incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum and educational program. We will continue to use our RAP to provide the framework for our ongoing reconciliation journey. We will continue to deepen our understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our commitment to mutual respect, trust and strengthening our understanding and knowledge of reconciliation.
