Our vision for reconciliation at Avenues Early Learning Centre Bowen Hills is founded on our commitment to deepening our educators’ knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. A shared journey to respectfully include the perspectives, histories, and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our early learning service. We create a culturally safe and welcoming environment that includes the cultures, perspectives and stories of the Traditional Owners. . We will provide our educators and families with opportunities to learn about the importance of reconciliation through education and shared community values. With our Reconciliation Action Plan, we are able to share a better understanding of the importance of the true histories and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we become more inclusive and culturally sensitive to all within our community. We believe by teaching the younger generation about reconciliation we can impact the way children think and act, ensuring we are providing an inclusive future for everyone.
