Our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as being the First Peoples of Australia.
Our vision sees all Australians, and everyone across our service, acknowledge and show respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, past, present and future, and the wisdom and knowledge they hold.
Cricklewood Child Care Centre and Kindergarten will continue to create a service where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, and families feel a deep sense of belonging, which in turn, will create opportunities for educators, children, families and the wider community develop a meaningful connection to the Bunurong community and Country.
We will continue to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are valued and respected, and that every learning environment fosters cultural safety. We are committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators and the local Bunurong community to ensure there are opportunities for educating the children and staff and wider community about the local true histories.
Our reconciliation journey will be guided by the five dimensions of reconciliation, as we continue to work towards creating a service that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians, and a national culture that represents equality and equity, truthful acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations.
We will continue to work towards ensuring equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and staff. This will be informed by inclusive practice and a service culture that is culturally responsive, safe, respectful, and proud.
