At Goodstart Montrose, our vision for reconciliation is to create and maintain a culturally safe responsive environment. Our service and environment will be built on the foundation of everyone being, inclusive and respectful of diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories, knowledge. Our service will continue to be a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are meaningfully embedded throughout our service, curriculum and everyday practice.
We maintain our commitment to fostering a service culture and learning environments that provide opportunities for everyone across our learning community to build trusting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators and communities. This, in turn, will ensure First Nations people feel a genuine sense of belonging, connection and respect.
We will continue to provide opportunities for non-Indigenous children, families and educators to deepen their understanding, appreciation and respect for First Nations peoples and cultures.
Through ongoing reflection, intentional teaching and authentic community partnerships, we will continue to raise awareness of diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and contemporary perspectives.
We acknowledge the importance of listening to and learning from First Nations voices and are committed to building respectful relationships that guide and strengthen our journey toward reconciliation.
As a service, we pledge to continue learning, growing and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities in meaningful and sustainable ways as we shape and enact Goodstart Montrose's vision for reconciliation. Together as an education community, we value opportunities to listen, learn and walk respectfully alongside First Nations peoples. We thank the Traditional Custodians for caring for this Land for generations and are committed to fostering understanding, respect and reconciliation within our learning community.
