Goodstart Early Learning, New Gisborne believe that as a nation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children must  benefit from education and learning opportunities like any other child. We truly value each Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person as the First Peoples of Australia through deep respect and understanding. As Australians actively working towards reconciliation, we champion unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our own shared history and removal of discrimination and negative race relations. As a centre we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Through reconciliation we aim to strengthen the relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the benefit of all Australians. Our reconciliation plan is a formal statement of commitment to our reconciliation journey. By making this commitment Goodstart Early Learning, New Gisborne aims to: enrich the lives of our staff, children, families, volunteers and the wider community through a deeper understanding and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to also provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to have input and contribute into our programs. We will endeavour to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, community and Elders to support our centre.  Goodstart Early Learning New Gisborne is a wholly inclusive centre that appreciates and respects all groups and cultures and incorporates learning and activities for children to grow in their knowledge of diversity and inclusivity.
