Goodstart Early Learning Melton West vision is to ensure the educators and children within our service are provided with opportunities to develop their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.
Our vision for reconciliation includes ensuring that all children have equal and equitable access to educational opportunities and outcomes As Australians actively working towards reconciliation, we strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality, equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of discrimination and negative race relations.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation underpinned by Goodstart’s three key themes of relationships, respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's empowerment.
By making this commitment, Goodstart Early Learning, Melton West aims to: Enrich the lives of our staff, children, families, volunteers and the wider community through a deeper understanding and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to also provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to have input and contribute into our programs. We will endeavour to engage with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, community and Elders to support the centre.
