At Winifred Nance Kindergarten, reconciliation is respectfully considering all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and points of view in our curriculum. We aim to provide equal and equitable opportunities and positive outcomes for all children, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who attend our service and are part of our wider community. At Winifred Nance Kindergarten, we strive to develop an understanding of, and to enhance our knowledge and respect for, the Gulidjan and Gadubanud People and the Country on which we live, learn and play. We believe all families should be actively listened to and have their cultures respectfully embedded into everything, including the curriculum, so that children will have opportunities to learn about each other's cultures and develop an appreciation of cultural diversity, including the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contributions. We aim to respectfully embed everyday practices that work towards reconciliation. We strive to engage with the local community to build connections and relationships with the Gulidjan and Gadubanud people as Traditional Custodians. We, as a community, aim to continue to learn, develop and expand our knowledge and practices in an authentic and genuine manner.
