Our service is committed to nurturing a culture of respect, understanding, and genuine partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise that our centre operates on lands traditionally cared for by Aboriginal communities, and we honour the enduring connection of the Gadubanud peoples to Country, culture, and community.
We envision a learning environment where reconciliation is lived every day, where children, families, and educators grow in their understanding of Australia's shared history and actively contribute to a more just and inclusive future. Through meaningful engagement with Aboriginal perspectives, we aim to foster a strong sense of identity, belonging, and respect in every child.
Our commitment includes embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives into our curriculum in authentic and respectful ways. We will create opportunities for children to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Gadubanud peoples, including their deep relationship with land, waters, and storytelling traditions. We will do this in partnership with local Aboriginal communities wherever possible, ensuring that knowledge is shared appropriately and respectfully.
We strive to build strong, ongoing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities, honouring their voices and perspectives as essential to our practice. Our educators will engage in continuous learning to deepen their cultural competence, challenge bias, and promote equity within our service.
