VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Play CC&K, we believe that reconciliation is about coming together as a community to foster truth, honest communication, equality, equity, and healing. It is an opportunity to build a reconciled Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have the same choices, opportunities, and outcomes as non-Indigenous Australians. Reconciliation is about creating an inclusive and respectful environment that values and celebrates the rich cultural diversity, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe that working towards a reconciled future strengthens relationships with children, families, and the wider community. By embracing reconciliation, we create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, supported, included, and respected. These shared commitments help foster a strong sense of belonging and encourage positive connections across our community. Our commitment to reconciliation is ongoing and continually evolving. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for everyone to grow, learn, and deepen their understanding.

Our educators are encouraged to engage in continuous learning, build meaningful relationships, and seek out new knowledge and perspectives that enhance their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and ways of knowing. Through this commitment, we strive to embed respect, cultural responsiveness, and reconciliation into our everyday practice.
