Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Peoples of Australia deepening our respect and understanding of how Aboriginal and Torres Strait knowledges and understandings can be used within our teaching practices. As Australians, we will continue to actively work towards reconciliation, and embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our true histories and removal of discrimination and negative race relations. As a centre, we believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Through reconciliation, we will continue to foster relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the benefit of all Australians. Our reconciliation plan is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation, which is underpinned by the key themes of relationships and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's self-governance. Through our commitments to reconciliation, Goodstart Early Learning, Noble Park aims to enrich the lives of our staff, children, families, volunteers and the wider community. We will continue to support our learning community in developing a deeper understanding and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and perspectives. We will continue to provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to have input and contribute into our programs. We will endeavour to engage with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and Elders within our community to support the centre in our reconciliation journey.
